Kieran and Ellie met at Stage Theatre Society, a local youth theatre company, when they were teenagers. They started performing together in 2012 and a lot has happened since. Together they made their way to Loughborough University where they performed as featured vocalists for Tuxedo Swing, one of the country's largest student big bands

After university, Ellie made her way to Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where she earned her MA in Musical Theatre. Kieran, on the other hand, headed out West to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California. Whilst training in the US, Kieran performed regularly on the cabaret and open-mic comedy scene, performing parodies and original musical comedy

​After a few years spent living in different parts of the world, Kieran and Ellie finally married on July 31st 2023 and quickly began performing together again, deciding on the name 'Tennessee Whisky'; a nod to a crowd-favourite they sing together and to Ellie's Scottish roots
